UW-Stout Expands Lead At Women’s Golf Championship

REEDSBURG, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stout continues to lead following the second round of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship (presented by Culver’s) at Reedsburg Country Club on Oct. 4.
 
The Blue Devils, who won their most recent championship in 2016, own a 36-hole total of 615 strokes to exceed UW-Oshkosh’s second-place total of 654 strokes. UW-Whitewater is third with 659 strokes, UW-La Crosse fourth with 661, UW-Stevens Point fifth with 663, UW-Eau Claire sixth with 665, UW-Platteville seventh with 669 and UW-River Falls eighth with 679.
 
UW-Stout’s Julia Imai, the defending individual champion, leads the 79-player field with a two-day total of 151 strokes. Teammate Brin Neumann is second with 153 strokes, UW-Stevens Point’s Kate Downie third with 155, UW-La Crosse’s Haley Thoeny and UW-Stout’s Ashleigh Johnson are tied for fourth with 156, UW-Whitewater’s Payton Schmidt is sixth with 157, UW-Eau Claire’s Lilly Kaminski seventh with 158, and UW-Eau Claire’s Tally Schlindwein and UW-Platteville’s Taylor Swalve are tied for eighth with 159. UW-Stout’s Sarah Chaffee and Hallie Tulip are tied for 10th with 160.
 
The team winner will earn the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 19-22, 2026, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif.

The 54-hole championship will conclude on Oct. 5, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
