Women's Golf 10/5/2025 6:06:49 PM UW-Stout Claims Women’s Golf Championship; Imai Wins Second Straight Individual Title REEDSBURG, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stout claimed the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship (presented by Culver’s) at Reedsburg Country Club on Oct. 5. The conference title is the fourth in program history and first since 2016. UW-Stout secured the championship with a 54-hole total of 935 strokes. The Blue Devils earned the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 19-22, 2026, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. UW-Whitewater, the eight-time defending champion, placed second with 983 strokes. The 48-stroke margin of victory is the second-best in conference history. UW-Stevens Point placed third with 989 strokes, UW-La Crosse fourth with 995, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 996, UW-Eau Claire sixth with 1,000, UW-River Falls seventh with 1,011 and UW-Platteville eighth with 1,017. UW-Stout’s Julia Imai secured medalist honors for the second straight year after pacing the 79-player field with 230 strokes. She is the fourth golfer in conference history to finish first in back-to-back years. UW-Stout’s Brin Neumann placed second with 233 strokes, UW-Stevens Point’s Kate Downie third with 238, UW-La Crosse’s Haley Thoeny fourth with 238, UW-Stout’s Ashleigh Johnson and Hallie Tulip tied for fifth with 239, and UW-Eau Claire’s Tally Schlindwein and UW-Platteville’s Taylor Swalve tied for seventh with 240. UW-Stout head coach Sophia Connett claimed Kwik Trip Coach of the Year honors for the second consecutive year, while UW-Whitewater’s Abbie Reiser received the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award. An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school. Named to the squad were: UW-Eau Claire’s Riane Hayden; UW-La Crosse’s Lauren Ambrookian; UW-Oshkosh’s Hailey Matenaer; UW-Platteville’s Taylor Swalve; UW-River Falls’ Lauren Skov; UW-Stevens Point’s Marlayna Gonnering; UW-Stout’s Avery Meyer; and UW-Whitewater’s Natalie Kammer. # # # # #
