UW-Stout Polytechnic Owns Lead At Women’s Golf Championship

REEDSBURG, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic grabbed the lead following the second round of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Golf Championship (presented by Culver’s) at Reedsburg Country Club on Oct. 10.
 
The defending champion Blue Devils own a 36-hole total of 630 strokes to nip UW-Eau Claire’s second-place total of 631 strokes. UW-Whitewater is third with 636 strokes, UW-La Crosse fourth with 642, UW-Stevens Point fifth with 653, UW-River Falls sixth with 675, UW-Oshkosh seventh with 690 and UW-Platteville eighth with 703.
 
UW-Whitewater’s Delainey Halverson leads the 74-player field with a two-day total of 150 strokes, while UW-Stout Polytechnic’s Julia Imai – the two-time defending champion – is second with 154 strokes. UW-La Crosse’s Haley Thoeny and UW-River Falls’ Megan Bermejo are tied for third with 156, and UW-Eau Claire’s Lilly Kaminski is fifth with 157. UW-Eau Claire’s Karalyn Skinner and UW-Stout Polytechnic’s Ashleigh Johnson are tied for sixth with 158, UW-Stevens Point Natalie Quella is eighth with 159, and UW-La Crosse’s Nora Gogin and UW-Stout’s Sarah Chaffee are tied for ninth with 160.
 
The team winner will earn the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 11-14, 2027, at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
 
The 54-hole championship will conclude on Oct. 11, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
