All-WIAC Women’s Golf Awards Announced

MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its women’s golf awards for the 2026 season.

University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic’s Julia Imai received Player of the Year honors for the third consecutive year, while the Blue Devils’ Karma Hasselberger secured Newcomer of the Year accolades.

The All-Conference Team was determined by using a combination of the WIAC Championship results (50 percent) and the SCOREBOARD Powered by Clippd Regional Rankings (50 percent) distributed on Oct. 21. A player must have completed a minimum of eight rounds in order to be considered for selection to the All-Conference Team and Player of the Year, while a minimum of six rounds were needed to qualify for Newcomer of the Year.

Imai is the first individual in conference history to receive the distinction three consecutive years. She added Newcomer of the Year honors in 2024. Imai owned a 75.7 stroke average during the fall season. She won the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational and St. Catherine (Minn.) Fall Invitational. She was third at the WIAC championship, fourth at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invitational and seventh at the Minnesota State Mankato Fall Brawl.

Hasselberger is the fourth Blue Devil to claim the award. She posted an 82.4 stroke average and placed ninth at the WIAC championship. A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used her first season of participation in women’s golf this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in women’s golf at their previous institution.
