Men's Indoor Track and Field 2/26/2022 10:43:03 PM UW-Oshkosh Wins Men’s Indoor Track & Field Title PLATTEVILLE, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship (presented by Culver’s) at UW-Platteville’s Williams Fieldhouse on Feb. 26. The conference championship is the sixth in program history – and first since 2001 – for the Titans. UW-Oshkosh amassed 172 points during the two-day meet to surpass the second-place total of 128.50 points by 19-time defending champion UW-La Crosse. UW-Eau Claire finished third with 110.33 points, UW-Whitewater fourth with 104, UW-Platteville fifth with 56.67, UW-Stout sixth with 56, UW-Stevens Point seventh with 33.50 and UW-River Falls eighth with two. UW-Oshkosh secured four individual first-place finishes during the second day of events. Davian Williams established a time of 6.72 seconds to win the 60-meter dash, while Jonathan Wilburn won the triple jump for the third straight championship with a mark of 49-8 1/2. Steven Potter was victorious in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.82 and Caleb Cornelius captured the high jump with a height of 6-8 3/4. UW-Whitewater’s David Fassbender successfully defended his title in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:16.29. UW-Eau Claire’s Jordan Lijewski received the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award. An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
