WIAC Sweeps USTFCCCA Men’s North Region Awards; 102 Secure All-Region Status

NEW ORLEANS--Individuals from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) have secured awards distributed by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2026 men’s indoor season. In addition, 102 conference individuals claimed All-Region honors.

UW-La Crosse’s Collin Conzemius received North Region Track Athlete of the Year honors, while UW-Eau Claire’s Gage Stankiewicz was tabbed the North Region Field Athlete of the Year. UW-La Crosse’s Josh Buchholtz and Derek Stanley were named the North Region Coach of the Year and North Region Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively.

Conzemius capped an undefeated season in the 400-meter dash with a victory at the NCAA Division III championship in a season-best 46.76 seconds. He vaulted to No. 3 in NCAA Division III history in the process. Conzemius later anchored UW-La Crosse’s 4×400-meter relay to victory in a meet-record 3:10.90, which is also the second-fastest performance in NCAA Division III history.

Stankiewicz scored 18 points in throwing events at the NCAA Division III championship, winning the shot put and placing second in the 35-pound weight throw. Earlier in the season, Stankiewicz won the shot put and took third in the 35-pound weight throw at the WIAC championship.

Buchholtz secured the award for the eighth time in his career (2012-15, 2019, 2024-25). He led the Eagles to a runner-up team finish at the NCAA Division III championship, just one point away from the title. UW-La Crosse also won the team title at the WIAC championship.

Stanley coached the Eagles’ distance runners to account for 33 of UW-La Crosse’s 74 points in finishing team runner-up at the NCAA Division III championship with four athletes placing second or third individually. His crew won four events at the WIAC championship, which included a 1-2-3-4-5-6 finish in the mile.

The USTFCCCA also announced the All-North Region Team. To be named All-Region, an athlete must be ranked in the top-five of an individual event in the region on the TFRRS Descending Order List.
