Men's Indoor Track and Field 3/14/2026 9:07:07 PM Three Teams In Top Four At NCAA Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship; Conference Tallies Eight Titles BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams placed in the top four following two days of competition at the NCAA Division III Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Birmingham Crossplex on March 14. UW-La Crosse finished second with 74 points, UW-Oshkosh third with 64 and UW-Eau Claire fourth with 32. Rowan University (N.J.) won its first national championship with 75 points. University of Lynchburg (Va.) rounded out the top five with 30 points. Additional WIAC team finishes included: UW-River Falls tied for 16th with 10 points; UW-Stevens Point tied for 51st with two and UW-Whitewater tied for 56th with one. A total of 61 teams earned points at the national meet that was hosted by the Southern Athletic Association and Birmingham CrossPlex. UW-La Crosse’s Collin Conzemius won the 400-meter dash with a time of 46.76 seconds, while Carter Pearson was victorious in the triple jump with a leap of 49-3 (15.01m). Conzemius also ran the anchor leg on the 4x400-meter relay team that posted a first-place finish with a meet record time of 3:10.90. He was joined by Chase Doornink, Andrew Hackbarth and Devin Williams. UW-Oshkosh also finished with three titles. Joshua Rivers became the first individual in NCAA Division III history to claim three consecutive long jump crowns, posting a mark of 24-6 1/2 (7.48m). Collin Kao won the pole vault with a height of 17-5 3/4 (5.33m), while Gavin Fritsch was victorious in the 35-pound weight throw with a fling of 68-2 1/4 (20.78m). UW-River Falls’ Jacob Balcome won the heptathlon for the second straight year with a meet record 5,487 points. He is the second individual in NCAA Division III history to claim the event in back-to-back championships.
