Official USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS
--Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have received NCAA Division III Men’s National awards for the 2026 indoor season from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Collin Conzemius was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Year, while UW-Eau Claire’s Gage Stankiewicz received Men’s Field Athlete of the Year and UW-La Crosse’s Josh Buchholtz collected Men’s Coach of the Year honors.

Conzemius capped an undefeated season in the 400-meter dash with a victory at the NCAA Division III championship. He stopped the clock at 46.76 seconds to become the third-fastest man in NCAA Division III history. That was one of three times Conzemius went sub-47 seconds in the 400 this season, making him one of only two men in NCAA Division III history to do so three or more times in a single season. Later in the meet, Conzemius anchored UW-La Crosse’s 4×400-meter relay to a meet-record 3:10.90.

Stankiewicz scored 18 points in throwing events at the NCAA Division III championships, winning the shot put and finishing runner-up in the 35-pound weight throw. He went undefeated in the shot put this season, including a victory at the UW-La Crosse Caged Eagle Open where he threw a PR of 61-8 1/2 (18.81m) to become the seventh-best performer in NCAA Division III history.

Buchholtz led the Eagles to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Division III championship. UW-La Crosse scored in 11 of 17 events, which included event titles in the 400-meter dash (Collin Conzemius), 4×400-meter relay (meet-record 3:10.90), and triple jump (Carter Pearson). Earlier in the season, the Eagles won the team title at the WIAC championship with 206 points and had multiple scorers in 10 events.
