RIVER FALLS, Wis.
--Bryan Orlenko has been named head women's golf coach according to director of athletics, Crystal Lanning.

"I am excited to welcome Coach Orlenko to UW-River Falls to lead the women's golf program," Lanning said. "He has experienced a high level of success coaching young women and I believe he will continue to build on the recent success of our women's golf program."

Orlenko comes to River Falls after serving as the head girl's golf coach at Woodbury High School for the past five years. He has previously served as an assistant golf professional at country clubs in Wisconsin and Florida.

"I am extremely thankful and honored to be named the women's golf coach at UW-River Falls. It has been a dream of mine to be a collegiate coach and I'm thankful to Crystal Lanning and the administration at UW-River Falls for being given the opportunity. I would like to give special thanks to my family for their support in this new endeavor. Also, I would like to thank Tony Arvold, who gave me a start in the golf business, and Jason Gonnion, who gave me the opportunity five years ago to coach the Woodbury girls' golf team. I look forward to buidling the recent success of our team and creating something special at UW-River Falls."

As a high school coach, Orlenko led Woodbury to Minnesota AAA State Tournament berths in three of the five years at the helm, with the best finish coming in 2018. In all five years he had a player qualify individually for the state tournament, including a personal best of second place in the 2018 edition. Orlenko's team also never finished lower than third place in the Suburban East Conference, with multiple all-conference members, and an overall conference championship in 2018. He was also named section coach of the year in 2015, 2016, and 2018.

Orlenko played professionally as a member of the Wisconsin PGA Section from 2007-09 and continues to play these days in the amateur ranks. He earned a degree in business administration from UW-Eau Claire in 2006.

Orlenko and his family currently reside in Apple Valley, Minn.
