Women's Tennis 5/7/2026 1:55:20 PM UW-Oshkosh’s Carpenter Named Women’s Tennis Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Courtney Carpenter has been named the recipient of the 2026 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Tennis Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award. A senior from Oshkosh, Wis. (Oshkosh West), Carpenter sustains a 3.97 grade point average and is majoring in medical imaging - radiologic science. She earned a spot on the 2024 and 2025 College Sports Communicators NCAA Division III Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis Team. She is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete and three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. In 2025, Carpenter was a National Society of Leadership and Success nominee. In 2026, she was nominated for the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence. Carpenter has been recognized on UW-Oshkosh’s Dean’s List numerous semesters. Carpenter finished in third place at No. 6 singles at the 2024 WIAC Women’s Tennis Championship. In 2025, she placed fourth at No. 1 doubles and served as team captain. Carpenter was a Top 2 doubles player multiple seasons. Carpenter is currently working part-time as an imaging assistant at Aurora Medical Center and has completed approximately 2,000 clinical hours as a student radiographer. She has been a member of ELKS organization, investing in the community through programs for improving the quality of life of children and veterans. Carpenter led structured study sessions for peers and has assisted in operations of athletics events at UW-Oshkosh. She has volunteered as a youth tennis instructor, and organized community carnivals, Special Olympics events and Humane Society donation drive. Also nominated for this year’s scholar-athlete award were: UW-Eau Claire’s Liv Herzog (Sr., Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna); UW-Stevens Point’s Tristin Jantz (Sr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central); and UW-Whitewater’s Molly Asfeld (Sr., Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West). The WIAC Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman, who served as Assistant Commissioner for the WIAC from 1996-98. Prior to this appointment, she was Commissioner of the Wisconsin Women’s Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) from October 1984 - September 1996. Kruckman was the women’s athletics director at UW-Eau Claire from 1974-84, and one of the original representatives to the WWIAC when it formed in 1971. In order to be nominated for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average. In addition, she must be in her last year of competition, or on schedule to graduate this academic year, and have competed for a minimum of two years. The award is based on academic achievements, athletics accomplishments and involvement in other campus activities, organizations, and community service projects. # # # # #
