PETER, Minn.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse fell 4-0 at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship at Wilkinson Tennis Complex on May 9. UW-La Crosse earned a spot in the second round after a 4-0 victory over UW-Superior in the first round on May 8. Against Gustavus Adolphus (30-5), the Gusties earned the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. Molly Austin/Elena Davis defeated the Eagles' Lily Jorgenson/Hannah Cady at No. 2 doubles (6-1) while Ella De Young/Allison Szalay beat Maia Samuelson/Caitlyn Stadter at No. 3 (6-1). The match at No. 1 doubles between UW-La Crosse's Tasha Bailey/Shelby Roth and Gustavus Adolphus' Kaya DeBruin/Karina Elvestrom was abandoned. Gustavus Adolphus took a 2-0 lead at No. 3 singles with Austin defeating Stadter (6-0, 6-1). Davis extended the lead to 3-0 after a victory over Cady at No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-1). The Gusties secured the team win with Elvestrom defeating Bailey at No. 1 (6-2, 6-1). The matches between Roth and DeBruin (No. 2), Jorgenson and the Gusties' Omar Noor (No. 4) and UW-La Crosse's Lauren Lindow and De Young (No. 5) were abandoned. UW-La Crosse completed the 2025-26 campaign with a 21-3 record, matching the program record for wins. They went 21-5 in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
