Men's Indoor Track and Field 4/9/2025 8:38:24 PM UW-Oshkosh’s Cazzola and UW-Whitewater’s Wendt Inducted Into USTFCCCA Hall of Fame Official USTFCCCA Release NEW ORLEANS--A pair of former Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standouts have been announced as inductees into the 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Athlete Hall of Fame after University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Christy Cazzola and UW-Whitewater’s Jeremy Wendt received the honor. No one in UW-Oshkosh history owns more individual national titles or All-America medals than Christy Cazzola. She is a 17-time NCAA champion, 18-time All-American, 18-time WIAC champion, four-time USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Year, and eight-time USTFCCCA Regional Athlete of the Year. Cazzola won multiple NCAA titles in four events, including four consecutive victories in the 1,500 meters and three consecutive triumphs in the mile. She left her name all over the record book, setting NCAA Division III indoor records in the 800, mile, 5,000, and as part of a distance medley relay, as well as outdoor standards in the 800 and 1,500. Cazzola is the seventh former Titan student-athlete to be inducted into the USTFCCCA Division III Collegiate Hall of Fame, including Melissa Mueller (2004), Laura (Horejs) Lambert (2006), Stephanie (Bostwick) Resch (2007), Melissa (Oleson) Tassone (2010), Robyn Jarocki-Hughes (2017) and Elizabeth (Woodworth) Kujawa (2023). Wendt's record in the indoor weight throw (19.76m) and outdoor hammer toss (66.48m) both stand as school records to this day. During his time as a Warhawk, Wendt collected seven All-American honors and was a four-time WIAC individual champion. Wendt left his mark on the NCAA Division III record book. It was at the 2004 WIAC Outdoor Championships where Wendt launched the hammer 66.48m (218-2) to obliterate a 12-year-old NCAA Division III record and set one that stood for the next six years. Later that season, Wendt would win his second NCAA hammer title in a row to give him three career NCAA crowns alongside his 2004 weight throw victory. Wendt graduated from UW-Whitewater a seven-time All-America honoree and a four-time WIAC individual champion. Wendt is the first Warhawk inducted into the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame. Cazzola and Wendt are joined in the 2025 class by Deshawnda Williams from Wheaton College (Mass.), Renee Erickson from Concordia University Moorhead (Minn.), Macharia Yuot from Widener University (Pa.), and Eric Campbell-Woodruff from Morovian College (Pa.). # # # # #
