UW-Eau Claire’s Heidorn Leads WIAC Runners At NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championship

SPARTANBURG, S.C.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Molly Heidorn led the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) runners at the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship at Roger Milliken Cross Country course at the Roger Milliken Center on Nov. 22.
 
Heidorn placed 31st with a time of 21:49.1 to earn All-America accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Audrey Maclean of Middlebury College (Vt.) secured the individual crown with a time of 20:16.8 on the 6,000-meter course. A total of 290 runners completed the race.
 
In the team standings, UW-La Crosse finished 12th with 405 points, while UW-Eau Claire was 20th with 512 points. New York University (N.Y). won the national title with 79 points,  Williams College (Mass.) was second with 106, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calf.) third with 133, Johns Hopkins University (Md.) fourth with 140, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology fifth with 232. A total of 32 teams competed in the national event that was hosted by Converse University (S.C.) and OneSpartanburg, Inc.
