UW-La Crosse Captures NCAA Women’s Cross Country North Regional Crown

COLFAX, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse won the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country North Regional title for the second straight year at Whitetail Golf Course on Nov. 15.
 
UW-La Crosse compiled 45 points for the fourth regional championship in program history and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship. Carleton College (Minn.) was second with 71 points, UW-Eau Claire third with 123, St. Olaf College (Minn.) fourth with 184 and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) fifth with 255.
 
Additional finishes by Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams included: UW-Whitewater sixth with 265 points; UW-Stevens Point seventh with 271; UW-Oshkosh eighth with 276; UW-River Falls 12th with 310; UW-Platteville 17th with 415; and UW-Stout 18th with 422. A total of 30 teams competed in the regional event that was hosted by UW-Eau Claire.
 
Hannah Preisser of Carleton won the individual title with a time of 21:40.2 to pace a field of 207 runners on the 6,000-meter course. UW-La Crosse’s Lucy Duchac was the top WIAC finisher, placing second in 21:48.0, while UW-Eau Claire’s Molly Heidorn took third in 21:51.9.
 
Additional conference runners securing All-North Region recognition by placing in the Top 35 included: UW-La Crosse’s Brooklyn Luebke sixth (21:53.4); UW-La Crosse’s Annika Elliott seventh (22:05.3); UW-La Crosse’s Becca Immer 10th (22:13.5); UW-Eau Claire’s Keeley Behr 16th (22:26.2); UW-River Falls’ Laina Viere 17th (22:31.6); UW-Stout’s Claudia Lasiowski 19th (22:34.5); UW-La Crosse’s Madison Twarling 20th (22:35.5); UW-La Crosse’s Julia Zalewski 21st (22:40.5); UW-Stevens Point’s Brooklyn Hoff 23rd (22:45.3); UW-La Crosse’s Lily Higgins 25th (22:48.4); UW-Eau Claire’s Ryann Wagner 27th (22:49.1); UW-Oshkosh’s Lehna Mitchell 28th (22:50.7); UW-Platteville’s Megan Hageman 31st (23:00.1); and UW-Whitewater’s Payton Scoggin 33rd (23:07.2).
