UW-Oshkosh’s Perlberg and UW-Eau Claire’s Kiebel Claim AVCA All-Region 8 Awards; Nine Secure All-Region Status

Official AVCA Release

LEXINGTON, Ky.
--University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Samantha Perlberg and UW-Eau Claire’s Bailey Leeke were tabbed the Region 8 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively, to lead the nine Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals receiving American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III All-Region 8 status.

Perlberg is a three-time All-Region selection, claiming honorable mention status a year ago after securing first team honors – and Freshman of the Year accolades – in 2023. Perlberg secured WIAC Offensive Player of the Year recognition this season and leads the conference with 4.41 kills and 4.94 points per set, while sitting ninth with a 3.47 digs per set average. She has compiled 16 double-doubles and reached 20 kills six times, including a 32-kill performance at UW-Whitewater on Oct. 29, which matched UW-Oshkosh’s single-game record.

Kiebel was tabbed the WIAC Newcomer of the Year and is second in the conference with 964 assists and 51 service aces. She owns the four highest single-match assist totals in the WIAC this season, including a season-best 65 assists against UW-Oshkosh on Nov. 15.

Joining Perlberg on the first team were: UW-Eau Claire’s Abby Stanwood and Bailey Leeke; UW-Oshkosh’s Lauren Grier and Grace Juergens; UW-Platteville’s Kierney McDonald; and UW-Whitewater’s Abbie Dix.
UW-Whitewater’s Aubrie Krzus joined Kiebel on the honorable mention team.

McDonald and Krzus were first team selections during the 2024 campaign, while Dix claimed honorable mention.
