Women's Tennis 10/27/2024 5:39:10 PM UW-Whitewater Captures 18th Straight Women’s Tennis Title MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Tennis Championship (presented by Culver’s) at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Oct. 27. The first-place finish is the 18th straight for the Warhawks and 25th in program history. UW-Whitewater won the crown with 20 points to surpass UW-La Crosse’s second-place total of 18 points. UW-Eau Claire took third with 16 points, UW-Stevens Point fourth with 11, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 10, UW-River Falls sixth with six and UW-Stout seventh with three. This year’s team title was determined by using a combination of the regular-season dual-meet standings and the WIAC championship results. The finish in the regular-season standings accounted for one-third of the criteria, while the conference championship accounted for the remaining two-thirds. At the two-day league championship, UW-Whitewater compiled 60 points (14 overall championship points), while UW-La Crosse was second with 55 points (12), UW-Eau Claire third with 45 (10), UW-Stevens Point fourth with 32 (8), UW-Oshkosh fifth with 30 (6), UW-River Falls sixth with 18 (4) and UW-Stout seventh with 12 (2). UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point advance to the team tournament that will determine the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Championship. UW-Whitewater will host the four-team event on April 26, 2025. UW-Whitewater’s Cassie Lee received the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award. An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
