UW-Whitewater's Shelton and UW-Eau Claire's Fobbe Named WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Tina Shelton and UW-Eau Claire's Catie Fobbe  have been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 16 - 22.

Shelton (So., Janesville, Wis./Parker) broke the program record in the 60-meter dash in UW-Whitewater’s first indoor competition of the season. She crossed the finish line in the prelims in 7.68 seconds to break the school record (7.73) in the event. Shelton went on to win the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.69 seconds in the finals. She also added first-place points to the team total with a time of 25.48 seconds in the 200-meter to lead UW-Whitewater to first place finish in the Karl Schlender Open on Jan. 21.
 
Fobbe (Sr., Annandale, Minn./Maple Lake) won both the won both the shot put and 20-pound weight throw at the UW-Platteville Triangular on Jan. 21. Her throw of 45-7 1/4 (13.90m) in the shot put ranks second in the WIAC and sixth in the NCAA. Her throw of 57-10 1/4 (17.63m) in the 20-pound weight throw ranks second in the WIAC and fifth in NCAA Division III.
