Women’s Indoor Track & Field Awards Revealed

MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its award winners for the 2026 women’s indoor track & field season, based on voting by the conference coaches.
 
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Amelia Lehman was selected the Track Performer of the Meet from the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver’s), while UW-La Crosse’s Maya Evans was chosen the Field Performer of the Meet. UW-Stevens Point’s Gracie Ridgway received Newcomer of the Year honors and UW-La Crosse collected Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.
 
Lehman won the mile- and 3,000-meter run with times of 4:58.75 and 9:51.43, respectively. In addition, She was a member of the first-place distance medley relay team that posted a time of 12:11.57.
 
Evans was victorious in the triple jump with a leap of 39-10 1/4 (12.15m) that established a WIAC season best mark and facility record. She added a second-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 18-8 1/2 (5.70m).
 
Ridgway placed third in the long jump with a mark of 18-5 1/4 (5.62m) and sixth in the pentathlon with 3,165 points. A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used her first season of participation in women's indoor track & field this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in women’s indoor track & field at their previous institution.
 
UW-La Crosse received the coaching distinction after leading the team to its fifth straight conference title and 32nd in program history. The coaching staff includes head coach Nickolas Davis; and assistant coaches Izzy Carroll (throws), Meg Cook (sprints), Doug Geiwitz (pole vault), Elizabeth May (sprints), Julianne Merkes (throws), Jim Nelson (throws), Sierra Rabe (distance), Derek Stanley (distance), Jenna Starck (high jump), Jakob Tordsen (multis/pole vault), and Katie Wagner (sprints/hurdles/relays); strength & conditioning coordinator Phil Whitesitt; head athletic trainer McKenzi Schornack; and staff athletic trainers Ryley Freiberg and Kelsey Galles.
