Layne Pitt General 7/25/2022 9:32:01 AM WIAC Inducts Fourth Hall of Fame Class WIAC Hall of Fame MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) inducted 27 members into its Hall of Fame at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wis., on July 23. There are now 114 members in the conference’s Hall of Fame. Inductees in the 2022 class included: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Alex Hicks, Michael D. Ratliff and Kristi (Griggs) Walston; UW-La Crosse’s Pat Healy, Patti (Franckowiak) Krautscheid and Martha Stephens; UW-Oshkosh’s Ken Allen, Dr. Helen Briwa and Ralph Sims; UW-Platteville’s Merrill Brunson, Paul L. Conlin and Deb Schulman; UW-River Falls’ Jill Crandall, Gary “Stump” Eloranta and Rich Melzer; UW-Stevens Point’s Dick Bennett, John “Jack” Bennett and Jordan Zimmermann; UW-Stout’s Dale M. Evans, Kelsey (Duoss) Steinhagen and Mark Thomas; UW-Whitewater’s Dr. Dianne Jones, Andre McKoy and Kris Russell; and Becky Blank, Tom Fiedler and Dr. Gary F. Karner from the WIAC office. The WIAC established a Hall of Fame to coincide with the conference's celebration of its 100th anniversary, which took place during the 2012-13 academic year. The second class was inducted in 2015 and third class in 2018. The Hall of Fame is intended to provide for the recognition of those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conference and to help preserve the storied history of the WIAC and its member institutions. Just as importantly, the WIAC Hall of Fame shall serve as an on-going source of celebration, inspiration and nostalgia, as well as a means of introducing the future to the past. # # # # #
