Men's Cross Country 12/4/2019 2:01:20 PM UW-La Crosse’s Schraeder Selected Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year; UW-Stout Secures Coaching Staff of the Year MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Josh Schraeder has been named the 2019 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year, while UW-Stout was selected the Coaching Staff of the Year, based on voting conducted by the league coaches. Schraeder is the first individual in program history to receive the distinction. He competed in five meets in 2019, placing in the top-11 in all five. Schrader earned All-America honors with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship in a season-best time of 24:32.1. He was eighth at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional to secure all-region accolades and captured the individual title at the WIAC Championship. UW-Stout took second at the conference championship for the second time in three seasons and placed fifth at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional for the third straight year. The Blue Devils earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Championship and finished 21st. The coaching staff includes: head coach Matt Schauf; assistant coach Emma Berndt; and volunteer coach Logan Gullickson. # # # # #
