Student-Athlete Spotlight: Abigail Weaver, UW-Whitewater

Sport:  Women’s Tennis
Majors:  Management with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration and Marketing with an emphasis in Professional Sales

Why did you choose UW-Whitewater?
I chose UW-Whitewater because it gave me the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love while pursuing my academic and career goals. I also loved the welcoming atmosphere and the sense of community within the tennis team.
 
What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in?
I am apart of Delight Ministries which is a women’s bible study group on campus which allows me to grow in my faith, build meaningful friendships, and connect with other women who share similar values.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being an NCAA Division III student-athlete?
I like the opportunity to compete at a high level while balancing academics and athletics. I love the competitive atmosphere, the friendships I’ve built with my teammates, and the opportunity to represent UW-Whitewater.

Hanging out together, whether we’re grabbing food, watching movies, or just spending time together and making memories.

My Parents
 
Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
Enjoy your time and fully immerse yourself in the experience because the time goes by so fast. Also, make the most of every opportunity.
 
If your team had a theme song, what would it be?
Pump it Up by Endor.
 
What is your dream job? 
Medical Device Sales or Healthcare Admin.
