UW-Eau Claire’s Behnke and UW-La Crosse’s Jarrett Named To Academic All-America® Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Team

--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Kayla Behnke and UW-La Crosse’s Lauren Jarrett have been named to the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field First Team.
 
Behnke sustains a 4.00 grade point average and is double majoring in computer science and mathematics and statistics and applied math. She is the first individual in program history to secure Academic All-America® honors since 2013.
 
Behnke claimed three All-America first team awards this season with top-eight finishes in the discus, weight throw and hammer throw at indoor and outdoor NCAA championships. She secured the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in the 20-pound weight throw during the indoor championship. Behnke owns the school record in the event.

Behnke was also the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) champion in the indoor weight throw this season, an event she holds the school record in. She helped the Blugolds finish fourth as a team at the NCAA outdoor championship this spring.
 
Jarrett secured Academic All-America® recognition for the second straight year after earning second team honors in 2024. She is the eighth individual program archives to secure the distinction twice. Jarrett is an exercise sport science pre-professional major and maintains a 3.62 grade point average.

Voted the track & field finalist for the 2025 Division III Honda Athlete of the Year Award, Jarrett was named this year's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Women's Track Indoor and Outdoor Athlete of the Year. She also swept the 2025 USTFCCCA Outstanding Indoor and Outdoor Track Performer of the Meet and the North Region Indoor and Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. Jarrett won the 60- and 200-meter dash titles at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship and swept the 100- and 200-meter dash at the NCAA III Outdoor Championships, while also anchoring the winning 4x100-meter relay.

Jarrett earned the 2025 WIAC Indoor and Outdoor Track Performer of the Meet. She won the 60- and 200-meter dash at the indoor conference championships and the 100- and 200-meter dash at the outdoor championships. Jarrett was also on the outdoor first-place 4x100-meter relay squad.

She holds the NCAA Division III record in the indoor 60-meter dash (7.29 seconds) and outdoor 100-meter dash (11.23 seconds), while ranking second in history in the indoor (23.94 seconds) and outdoor (23.44 seconds) 200-meter dash.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution, rank in the Top 50 in the region on the TFRRS performance list rankings in a single event (indoor or outdoor) for an individual performance (no relays), or have a Top 50 individual performance at the 2024 NCAA regional, and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
