UW-Oshkosh’s Surane Collects Gold Glove; Five Named To ABCA Region 9 All-Defensive Team

GREENSBORO, N.C.--Five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Region 9 All-Defensive Team. In addition, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Jake Surane received a Gold Glove.
 
Surane also received all-defensive team recognition and was joined on the squad by teammate Connor Brinkman, UW-La Crosse’s George Seaman and Nate Witte, and UW-Whitewater’s Aaron Holland.
 
Surane is the second individual in program history to receive a Gold Glove, joining Brad Demmin (2008). Surane started all 51 games in center field for the Titans this season and posted a .988 fielding percentage, recording 169 putouts and two assists on 173 total chances with just two errors.
 
Brinkman appeared in 13 games this season with 12 starts and recorded two putouts with 16 assists on 18 chances while turning a pair of double plays and picking off one runner on the base path. He posted a 3.75 earned run average with a 1.18 walks plus hits per inning pitched.
 
Seaman started all 46 games and had just one error, while recording 362 putouts and 14 assists. He led the Eagles with a .997 fielding percentage.
 
Witte played in all 46 games, including 45 starts, and finished with just one error, while recording 142 putouts and four assists.
 
Holland started 53 of 54 contests, and had 389 putouts and 40 assists with six errors.

The ABCA/Rawlings Region All-Defensive Awards and Gold Glove Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at each level: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and High School.
