UW-Whitewater’s Carollo Secures Academic All-America® First Team Accolades

GREENWOOD, Ind.
--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Kacie Carollo has been named to the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Women’s Basketball First Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators.

Carollo, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Basketball Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete this season, holds a 3.88 grade point average as an integrated science and business major. She broke numerous records during the 2024-25 campaign, was a finalist for the prestigious Jostens Trophy awarded to the top player in NCAA Division III and led the Warhawks to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in her career. She garnered All-America First Team honors from D3hoops.com and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, was the D3hoops.com Region 9 Most Outstanding Player and the WIAC Kwik Trip Player of the Year.
 
Academically, Carollo is the recipient of numerous scholarships, has been on the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll all four years, earned Dean's List honors every semester and will be recognized as a Chancellor Scholar Athlete this spring.
 
Carollo is the first individual in program history to receive Academic All-America® First Team recognition from the College Sports Communicators. Vanessa Reider and Aleah Grundahl were third team honorees in 2000 and 2024, respectively.

To be eligible for the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests, and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
