Women's Basketball 3/24/2025 11:31:28 AM UW-Whitewater’s Carollo Claims WBCA and D3hoops.com All-America First Team Honors; Three More Honored Official Releases - WBCA | D3hoops.com MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Kacie Carollo was selected to the 2025 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III All-America First Team and D3hoops.com All-America First Team to lead the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals securing All-America accolades. UW-Oshkosh’s Kayce Vaile, UW-Stevens Point’s Alexa Thomson and UW-Stout’s Raegan Sorensen secured a spot on the WBCA Honorable Mention Team, while the D3hoops.com squad included Sorensen on the second team and Vaile on the fourth team. Carollo received first team honors from D3hoops.com and the WBCA. She was a fourth team selection from D3hoops.com and honorable mention pick from the WBCA the last two years. Carollo is the second individual in program history to receive first team honors from both organizations, joining Aleah Grundahl in 2024. This season, Carollo totaled a Warhawk-record 635 points, the fifth most in NCAA Division III. In addition to the single-season scoring record, she broke program records for career rebounds, career double-doubles, season scoring average and three-pointers made in a season. She is the only Warhawk to record at least 1,500 points, 800 rebounds, 300 assists, 200 steals, and 50 blocks, finishing her career with 1,828 points, 902 rebounds, 371 assists, 226 steals, and 58 blocks. Vaile secured honorable mention status from the WBCA for the second straight year and is the fourth player in program history to secure All-America recognition from both organizations. She averaged 11.8 points and 8.5 rebounds, notching 10 double-doubles and scoring at least 10 points 21 times, including a 22-point performance at UW-Platteville on Jan. 29. She became the 24th Titan to reach 1,000 career points at UW-La Crosse on Feb. 15, and ranks 17th with 1,094 points. She also ranks third on the program’s all-time list with 814 rebounds, 119 blocked shots and 118 games played. Sorensen was a third team selection from D3hoops.com a season ago. This season, she led the WIAC with a 55.1 field goal percentage and ranked third with 18.4 points per game. She averaged 6.9 rebounds per contest, placing her eighth in the conference. Defensively, she ranked second in the WIAC with 2.2 steals per game. Sorensen became UW-Stout's all-time leading scorer, amassing 1,754 career points and surpassing the previous record of 1,738 points set by Julia Hirssig in 2010. Sorensen also holds the school record for career points per game, averaging 16.4 over her tenure. Thomson is the first Pointer to secure WBCA All-America accolades since Allie Miceli was an honorable mention selection in 2016. Thomson ranked third in the conference with 17.1 points per game and became the 22nd player in school history to score 1,000 points. She finished her UW-Stevens Point career with 1,161 points, the 12th-most in program history. # # # # #
