Twenty-Nine Collect NWCA Scholar All-America Recognition

MANHEIM, Pa.
--Twenty-nine wrestlers from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have received NCAA Division III Scholar All-America recognition from the National Wrestling Coaches Association for the 2024-25 season.
 
Individuals from the conference receiving recognition included: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Preston Carlisle, Ryder Depies, Tristan Drier, Zak McPhee, Travis Moelter, Zach Sato, Niall Schoenfelder and Jared Stricker; UW-La Crosse’s Sedeeq Alobaidi, Josh Cherba, Cameron Dennee, Tyler Dormanen, Michael Douglas, Leo Draveling, Tate Flege, Cole Hansen, Teague Holzer, Sam Lorenz, Wyatt Magolski, Marcus Orlandoni and Talan Schutte; UW-Platteville’s David Cushman and Kain Killmer; UW-Stevens Point’s Josh Heuss, Easton Hull and Riese Thornberry; and UW-Whitewater’s Gavin Kohel, Isaak Smith and Luke Swan.
 
The wrestlers qualified for the honor by placing in the top eight at the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional and having a cumulative grade point average over a 3.20.

In order to be named a Scholar All-American, a wrestler must have either placed in the top eight of their regional tournament or have a winning percentage greater than 66 percent across 15 matches. In the classroom, they must have a grade point average of 3.2 or higher over the last two semesters or a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better.
