Wrestling 2/28/2026 11:50:17 PM Three Win NCAA Wrestling Regional Titles MADISON, Wis.--Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) wrestlers claimed titles and are among the 22 conference individuals that earned a spot in the national meet following NCAA Division III Regional action on Feb. 27-28. The top-three finishers in each of the 10 weight classes from the regional advance to the NCAA Division III championship that will be held March 13-14 at Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point competed at the Region VII Regional in Eau Claire. UW-La Crosse finished second in the team standings with 165 points, while UW-Eau Claire was third with 140.50, UW-Stevens Point fourth with 120, UW-Platteville sixth with 66.5 and UW-Oshkosh 12th with 30.5. UW-Eau Claire’s Izzy Balsiger won the 125-pound title with an 8-5 decision over UW-La Crosse’s Quintin Wolbert. UW-La Crosse’s Noah Leisgang posted a first-place finish at 174 pounds with a 3-0 sudden victory over Toren Vandenbush of Milwaukee School of Engineering. It is Leisgang’s third regional title after previous claiming the 165-pound weight class in 2023 and 2024. UW-Stevens Point’s Easton Hull claimed the 184-pound championship with an 8-6 decision over Brandt Bombard of Augsburg University (Minn.) UW-Whitewater competed at the Region V Regional in University Heights, Ohio, and emerged with the team title after tallying 163 points. Warhawks head coach Matt Zwaschka was named the Regional Coach of the Year, while his staff was tabbed the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
