UW-La Crosse’s Seebach Named Women’s Swimming & Diving Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete

MADISON, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Autumn Seebach has been named the recipient of the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women’s Swimming & Diving Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.
 
A senior from Menomonee Falls, Wis. (Menomonee Falls), Seebach sustains a 3.96 grade point average and is majoring in biology with a concentration in biomedical science, and has minors in chemistry, neuroscience, and a certificate in Spanish for health professionals. She is three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and has been recognized on UW-La Crosse’s Dean’s List numerous semesters, including the Eagle Elite – 4.0 Club five times. Seebach has received a pair of academic scholarships.
 
Seebach helped UW-La Crosse win this year’s WIAC Championship, by placing second in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 800-yard freestyle relay, and third in the 200-yard individual medley. A year ago, she helped the 800-yard freestyle relay to a runner-up finish. At the 2022 WIAC Championship, Seebach posted a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke and runner-up performance in the 100-yard backstroke. UW-La Crosse also won the conference title in 2022. She is a three-time recipient of her team’s Hardest Worker and Gold Eagle Awards, claiming the honors in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Seebach has served as secretary and vice president for UW-La Crosse’s Pre-Medicine Club, as well as treasurer for UW-La Crosse’s Make-A-Wish. She is an Emergency Medical Technician for Gundersen Tri-State. Seebach is a member of UW-La Crosse Vanguards, providing campus tours to prospective students and their families. She has been a teaching assistant in the Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory and a Spanish Conversation Partner.
 
Also nominated for this year’s scholar-athlete award were: UW-Eau Claire’s Kiara Bissen (Sr., Madison, Wis./Memorial); UW-Oshkosh’s Francesca Schiro (Sr., New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus); UW-Stevens Point’s Kyler Ernst (Sr., Fountain City, Wis./Onalaska Luther) and UW-Whitewater’s Lydia Wirkkula (So., West Bend, Wis./West).

The WIAC Scholar-Athlete Award is named after Judy Kruckman who served as Assistant Commissioner for the WIAC from 1996-98. Prior to this appointment, she was Commissioner of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) from October, 1984 - September, 1996. Kruckman was the women's athletics director at UW-Eau Claire from 1974-84, and one of the original representatives to the WWIAC when it formed in 1971. She was inducted into the WIAC Hall of Fame in 2012.

In order to be nominated for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average. In addition, she must be in her last year of competition, or on schedule to graduate this academic year, and have competed for a minimum of two years.  The award is based on academic achievements, athletics accomplishments and involvement in other campus activities, organizations and community service projects.
