UW-Eau Claire Wins Men’s Soccer Tournament Title

EAU CLAIRE, Wis.--University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men’s Soccer Tournament (presented by Culver’s) with a 1-0 victory over UW-Stevens Point at Simpson Field on Nov. 8.
 
It is the second straight tournament title for UW-Eau Claire (12-2-4 overall), who also secured an automatic NCAA bid with the win. Carson Kowalski scored the lone goal of the contest at 14:28 into the first half with assists from Ramzi Ouro and Owen Williams. UW-Eau Claire held a 14-4 advantage in shots and had six corner kicks compared to two for the Pointers.
 
UW-Stevens Point (13-4-4) was making its first championship match appearance. Marcelo Chavez had the lone shot on goal by the Pointers in the 90th minute. Jacob Havlik made six saves for the Pointers.
