Student-Athlete Spotlight: Maggie Trautsch, UW-Whitewater

Why did you choose UW-Whitewater?
I chose UW Whitewater because I loved the feel of the campus, the competitiveness of the athletic programs, and how close of a community it seemed at Whitewater.
 
What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in?
I am a part of SAAC.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
I like the competitive nature of the WIAC and the championship culture of UW-Whitewater athletics.

Watch movies and have team dinners.
 
Who is someone that you look up to?
My dad, he is a very hard worker and taught me the importance of hard work at a young age.
 
Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
Enjoy the moment, it goes by too fast - don't forget to enjoy and embrace the little things with your teammates.
 
One word that describes you?
Outgoing.
 
What is your dream job? 
WNBA player.

A non-athletic talent that you have is?
I can rap pretty good or write raps.

Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they?
I have certain handshakes that I do with my teammates during certain points of warmups and drink a Sweet Spot coffee each game day morning.
