Women's Cross Country 11/23/2024 7:20:12 PM UW-La Crosse Places 13th at NCAA Women’s Cross Country Championship; UW-Stout’s Felton Top WIAC Finisher TERRE HAUSTE, Ind.--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse placed 13th out of 32 teams at the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship held at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on Nov. 23. The Eagles compiled 421 points in their 38th appearance in the national championship. Massachusetts Institute of Technology secured the first national title in program history with 128 points. University of Chicago (Ill.) took second with 138 points, Williams College (Mass.) third with 155, New York University (N.Y.) fourth with 177, and Johns Hopkins University (Md.) fifth with 256. The national championship was hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. University of Wisconsin-Stout’s Mckayla Felton was the top Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences finisher, placing 46th with a time of 21:53.6. UW-La Crosse was led by Gwen Hinz, who finished 68th with a time of 22:07.2. Faith Duncan of Wilmington College (Ohio) secured the national title with a time of 20:16.5 on the 6,000-meter course.
