Student-Athlete Spotlight: Brynlee Nelson, UW-Platteville

Each week during the 2024-25 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q & A segment. Why did you choose UW-Platteville?
I chose UW-Platteville because it is a beautiful campus, within a good community that is close to home.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
I enjoy competing in the WIAC because it is an extremely competitive conference. Being a Division III athlete allows me to prioritize my schooling.

I enjoy attending other UW-Platteville sporting events with my teammates.

My older sister.
 
Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
The advice I have for younger student-athletes is to continue working hard, have fun, and take time to yourself.

Passionate.
 
What is your dream job? 
Teacher/Coach.
 
Three things on your "bucket list"?
---Learn how to snowboard.
---Go whitewater rafting in a national park.
---Run a marathon.
 
A non-athletic talent that you have is?
I played piano for 5 years.

Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they?
I have to braid my hair before every game.
