Lindsay Bronson Schultz Named UW-Oshkosh Head Women’s Basketball Coach

OSHKOSH, Wis.--Lindsay Bronson Schultz was named the sixth head coach in the 56-year history of UW-Oshkosh women's basketball on Monday (July 27), announced by UW-Oshkosh Assistant Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Darryl Sims.

Bronson Schultz, who will begin her duties on August 3, takes reins of the Titans women's basketball program following Brad Fischer's 14-year tenure.
 
"I am incredibly honored to accept the opportunity to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball program," Bronson Schultz said. "I want to thank Darryl Sims, Abby Gildernick and the rest of the search committee for this incredible opportunity and for the trust and confidence they have placed in me.

Bronson Schultz comes to Oshkosh from Carroll University, where she had served as the head coach of the Pioneers since 2017. She led the Pioneers to a 134-114 record, including a 100-36 mark in the last five seasons.
 
Also Carroll's Senior Woman Administrator, Bronson Schultz has served on the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Regional Advisory Committee since 2024.
 
Taking over a squad that posted a 1-23 record in her first season, Bronson Schultz has led Carroll to a top-2 finish in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in each of the last four seasons with a share of the league's regular season championship in 2024 and 2026. She was named the conference coach of the year in 2024 and earned the award alongside her staff in 2026 after the league transitioned from honoring only the head coach to recognizing the entire coaching staff.
 
The Pioneers qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time since 2007 in 2024 after earning the CCIW's automatic bid as the league's tournament champion. Carroll returned to the national tournament as an at-large bid in 2026, and for just the third time in program history, won in the opening round with a 74-67 victory over DePauw University (Ind.).
 
For the first time in program history, a Pioneer was named a first team All-American this spring when Natalie Gricius was selected to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's top team. She also collected first team honors from D3hoops.com. Gricius won her first All-America honor in 2025 as one of the WBCA's honorable mentions. Olivia Rangel was a WBCA honorable mention in 2023, 2024 and 2025, a D3hoops fifth team selection 2024 and a D3hoops third team honoree in 2025. Under Bronson Schultz, nine Pioneers have been named All-CCIW 16 times.
 
Prior to arriving in Waukesha, Bronson Schultz was an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Bradley University (Ill.) from 2013-16. The Braves' recruiting coordinator her first three seasons, she transitioned into the defensive coordinator role in her final season in Peoria.
 
Bronson Schultz coached at Division II UW-Parkside (2012) and Division I UW-Milwaukee (2008-10) after serving as Milwaukee's Director of Basketball Operations and Video Coordinator for the 2007 season.
 
Bronson Schultz played collegiate basketball at former NAIA Division II member Cardinal Stritch University from 2001-04 where she was an NAIA All-American Scholar twice and the NAIA Champions of Character award recipient her senior season. During her time at Cardinal Stritch, the Prairie Wolves qualified for the NAIA Division II Tournament three times and posted a program-record 31 wins in 2004. Following her graduation, Bronson Schultz served as an assistant coach for the 2006 season, helping the team to the quarterfinal round of the national tournament.
 
Bronson Schultz graduated from Cardinal Stritch with her bachelor's degree in mathematics and secondary education in 2004 and earned her master's degree in sport management in 2011.

UW-Oshkosh owns 17 WIAC regular season championships, seven WIAC Tournament titles and has qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship 21 times, winning the 1996 national title at Kolf Sports Center.
