UW-La Crosse Named Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Scholar Team of the Year; 74 Earn Individual Honors From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS
--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse was named the NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Team of the Year for the 2022-23 academic year to lead the seven Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) programs collecting All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, 74 WIAC individuals received All-Academic distinction.
 
UW-La Crosse posted a 3.48 cumulative grade point average and won NCAA Division III championships in indoor and outdoor track & field. UW-Eau Claire (3.70), UW-Oshkosh (3.42), UW-Platteville (3.44), UW-River Falls (3.51), UW-Stout (3.355) and UW-Whitewater (3.401) also received All-Academic Team recognition for compiling at least a 3.10 grade point average.
 
The 74 conference individuals receiving honors included: UW-Eau Claire’s Kayla Behnke, Megan Best, Emilee Booker, Rachel Breu, Ayden Fleeharty, Emma Gruen, Jaryn Johannsen, Teagan Jones, Ashley Kachurik, Molly Kallenbach, Jane Kautz, Anna Schueth, Carolyn Shult, Raina Stecher, Evelyn Walker, and Leah Zastrow; UW-La Crosse’s Allison Anderson, Julia Anderson, Samantha Barrett, Izzy Carroll, Kimberly Carviou, Katelyn Chadwick, Emily Dawidowich, Skye Digman, Kylah Frederixon, Amber Grosse, Noelle Hackenmueller, Lilly Halvorson, Maddie Hannan, Maddie Hansen, Sarah Hulstedt, Lauren Jarrett, Morgan Jennings, Hailie Kent, Izi Knoernschild, Greta Koehler, Carter Kummet, Melanie Kunze, Emma Lawrence, Emma Malooly, Madelynn McIntyre, Abby Meidl, Ashley O’Connell, Alexys Scheuerell, Mara Schroeder, Leah Surprenant, Macie Todd, Maddy Vantassel, and Skylar White; UW-Oshkosh’s Micky Barrette, Katie Fruth, Libby Geisness, Megan Hunt, Cyna Madigan, and Brenna Masloroff; UW-Platteville’s Kaitlyn Galgon and Paulina Wienke; UW-River Falls’ Annika Gunderson; UW-Stevens Point’s Mackenzie Johnson, Rachel Krouse, Anetha Vogele, and Brooke Wellhausen; UW-Stout’s Lexi Cole, Jenna Driscoll, Mckayla Felton, Sydney Reisner, and Abi Weishoff; and UW-Whitewater’s Kenni Czarnecki, Ari De La Cerda, Paige Fassbender, Margaret Helbig, Gracie Holland, Mikayla Madlena, and Tina Shelton.
 
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 on a 4.00 scale and met at least one of the following athletic standards:  have finished the indoor or outdoor season ranked in the national top 50 of an individual event or in the national top 35 of a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order list on TFRRS; or competed in the NCAA indoor or outdoor championships.
