Student-Athlete Spotlight: Jamie Pfeifer, UW-Stevens Point

Each week during the 2022-23 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's.

Why did you choose UW-Stevens Point?
I chose UWSP because they had a great program for what I was interested in at the time and because of the way I was pursued by the coaching staff. I truly felt cared about.

What causes do you care about?
I care about sharing with people the hope, peace, and salvation they can find through Jesus! I’m very passionate about helping people live a truly satisfying and fulfilling life. I also think it is very important to preserve and care for the earth we live on, as well as we can while we live here.

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
I love competing in the WIAC because it is one of the most competitive leagues in the nation. Every WIAC team puts up a fight regardless of the circumstances and it is so fun to play in such a competitive league with so much talent. I love being a NCAA Division III athlete because I know I’m in it because of my passion and love for the sport and I compete alongside and against athletes that feel the same. There is nothing holding me to being a Division III athlete besides my desire to compete everyday in a sport that I love with girls that I love.
