UW-Platteville’s Dietz Secures Academic All-America® Softball Second Team Honors

AUSTIN, Texas
--University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Melissa Dietz has been named to the 2026 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Softball Second Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Dietz is the fourth individual in program history to receive Academic All-America® distinction, joining Lynn Nagy (1993), Jennifer Zell (1994) and Rachel Plautz (2022). Dietz is majoring in health and human performance and sustains a 3.96 grade point average.

Dietz is a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American, earning first team status in 2025 and 2026, and third team recognition in 2023. She is a three-time WIAC Position Player of the Year, receiving the distinction in 2023, 2025 and 2026.
 
In 2026, Dietz paced the conference in numerous offensive categories, including batting average (.532), home runs (9), slugging percentage (.910) and on-base percentage (.603).

Dietz holds the WIAC career record with a .511 batting average, while her 46 career doubles is a program mark. She is second in Pioneers history with 166 career hits, 108 RBI and 23 home runs.
