UW-Whitewater’s Billson Secures Academic All-America® Men’s Tennis Third Team Recognition

GREENWOOD, Ind.
--University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Theo Billson has been named to the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Men’s Tennis Third Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators.
 
Billson secured third team honors for the second straight year and is the first individual in program history to receive Academic All-America® distinction multiple times. He is majoring in mathematics with an emphasis in actuarial sciences and maintains a 3.88 grade point average.

Billson was recognized as the WIAC West Division Player of the Year for the second time this season, and secured a spot in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship. He advanced to the second round of the championship with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Alejandro Gonzales from Kenyon College (Ohio) in the first round. With the victory, Billson became the seventh Warhawk in history to reach the second round of the championship. 

To be eligible for the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, must be in the lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores, and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
