All-WIAC Women’s Lacrosse Awards Announced

MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its women’s lacrosse awards for the 2026 season, based on voting by the conference coaches.
 
Colorado College’s Charlotte Iler was named the Offensive Player of the Year, while La Crosse’s Ava Schiltz was tabbed the Midfielder of the Year and UW-River Falls’ Julia Hayek received Defensive Player of the Year honors. College of Saint Benedict’s Rayna Malmberg claimed Newcomer of the Year accolades and UW-River Falls collected Coaching Staff of the Year recognition.
 
Iler received the award for the second straight season after earning the Newcomer of the Year distinction in 2024. She ranks second in the WIAC with 59 goals and fifth with 29 assists. Iler established single-game program records with nine assists and 13 points against UW-Eau Claire on April 25. She recorded a season-high six goals against Johnson & Wales University (R.I.) on March 1.
 
Schiltz earned first team honors for the third straight year - the only player in program history to accomplish the feat. She is tied for fifth in the conference with 51 goals and 60 draw controls. Schiltz owns the program record with 223 career goals, 62 career assists and 285 career points.
 
Hayek leads the WIAC with 29 caused turnovers, while ranking second with 53 ground balls. She helped the Falcons defense allow the third-fewest goals in the conference at 150.
 
Malmberg is ninth in the conference with 18 assists and 10th with 48 draw controls. She scored a season-high five goals twice - against Hamline University (Minn.) on April 22 and UW-Eau Claire on April 29.
 
Repeat selections on the first team from a year ago include: Colorado College’s Sofia Mancino (Midfielder of the Year), UW-Eau Claire’s Reegan Werner; UW-La Crosse’s Megan Maloney; and UW-River Falls’ Samantha Hayek. Iler, Werner and Hayek also received first team recognition in 2024 with Iler adding Newcomer of the Year distinction.
 
UW-River Falls matched the most wins in program history with 15 this season. The coaching staff includes: head coach Talia Hayes; assistant coach and defensive coordinator Jordan Ruggeri; assistant coach Aliviah McClinton; and volunteer goalie coach Grace Ross.
 
An All-Sportsmanship Team was announced for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each team as selected by that team.
