Men's Basketball 3/8/2026 2:06:10 PM UW-La Crosse Advances To NCAA Men’s Basketball Sweet 16 MADISON, Wis.--For the second straight year, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse secured a spot in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship with a 79-62 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) in the second round at Mitchell Hall on March 7. UW-La Crosse (24-6) will face University of Mary Washington (Va.) (26-3) in the sectional semifinals on March 14 in Fredricksburg, Va. The Eagles posted a 75-61 victory over Hope College (Mich.) in the first round. UW-Whitewater also advanced to the second round, but fell 74-71 to Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) in St. Louis. The Warhawks beat Loras College (Iowa) 85-76 in the first round. UW-Whitewater completed the 2026 campaign with a 21-8 record and appeared in the NCAA tournament for the 23rd time in program history. The Warhawks also won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season championship. Competing in Chicago, Ill., UW-Platteville fell 57-52 to Otterbein University (Ohio) in the first round. The Pioneers were in their 17th NCAA championship and completed the season with an 18-10 record. UW-Stevens Point fell in its first round game against University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) 84-76 in St. Peter, Minn. The Pointers finished the season with a 19-8 record and made their 16th NCAA appearance and first since the 2018 campaign. # # # # #
