Men's Swimming and Diving 3/22/2026 12:15:01 AM UW-La Crosse’s Nygaard Claims All-America Honors At NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship INDIANAPOLIS--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Preston Nygaard earned All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship held at the IU Natatorium March 18-21. He finished with a time of 1:58.79 to become the first swimmer in program history to earn All-America First Team distinction in the 200-yard breaststroke at the national championship. Nygaard set a school record in the prelims of the event with a time of 1:58.37. Nygaard also finished 17th in the prelims of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.80 seconds and 49th in the prelims of the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.23 seconds. UW-La Crosse finished 41st at the national championship with 13 points. Denison University (Ohio) won its seventh national title with 437 points to surpass the second-place total of 388.50 points by New York University. University of Chicago (Ill.) took third with 353 points, Kenyon College (Ohio) fourth with 299 and Emory University (Ga.) fifth with 275. A total of 46 teams earned points at the national event that was hosted by Indiana University Indianapolis. # # # # #
