MEN'S BASKETBALL Dustin Derousseau, Senior (Tomah, Wis./Tomah), Guard of UW-La Crosse Derousseau averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 steals, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in two victories over teams receiving votes on the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll. He finished with 18 points, three assists and three steals in a 68-65 win at UW-Whitewater on Feb. 4, hitting the game-winning three-pointer with :01 left. Derousseau then had 21 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists in a 92-67 victory over UW-Platteville on Feb. 7. He scored 14 points in the second half. (Mountain Ridge) MEN’S ICE HOCKEY Sebastian Monaco, Freshman (Caledon, Ontario), Goalie of UW-Stout Monaco made 58 saves with a .967 saves percentage to lead the Blue Devils to a weekend and season sweep over UW-Superior. The first season sweep over UW-Superior since the 2000-01 season and first three-game sweep of the Yellowjackets in school history. Monaco made 24 saves in a 4-2 win on Feb. 6, and then posted a 34-save shutout on Feb. 7, to keep UW-Stout in contention for the WIAC regular-season title. Down 3-0 in the second period, UW-River Falls scored five unanswered goals to take down the Blugolds 5-3, handing them their first WIAC loss of the season. Aure scored two goals in a row, including a power play goal, and assisting on the eventual game-winner. She’s the top-scoring defender in the WIAC this season with 27 points. She assisted on three straight goals all within a 1:40 span in the 3rd quarter. Later in the third, Vang scored three goals as the Blue Devils rallied to cut the deficit. He placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.54) and 200-yard individual medley (2:04.05), while swimming first on UW-Oshkosh’s 200-yard freestyle squad (1:33.34). His shot put mark of 60-5 (18.41m) earned him first overall out of 28 competitors and sits as the top distance in the WIAC and second longest throw of all Division III this season. During the weight throw, Stankiewicz captured another first-place finish with his throw of 61-7 3/4 (18.79m) that ranks fourth in the WIAC and 10th in Division III.
