Football 10/29/2026 9:00:00 AM Student-Athlete Spotlight: Brady Puls, UW-Eau Claire Each week during the 2026-27 academic year, the WIAC will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's. Name: Brady Puls Institution: UW-Eau Claire Hometown and High School: Lodo, Wis (Lodi) Year in school: Junior Sport: Football Major: Business Management Why did you choose UW-Eau Claire? I chose UW-Eau Claire because of the opportunity to play football, build the culture of the program, and get a well-rounded education. The football coaches were the first to build my interest in UW-Eau Claire, but once I came on a visit, the beauty of the campus, the size of the community, and the friendliness of the community really made me feel like I was at home. The biggest reason I chose to go to UW-Eau Claire was because I wanted to play in front of the legendary Blugold Marching Band on Saturdays. What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in? Leadership Seminar Series What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being an NCAA Division III student-athlete? The thing I like most about competing in the WIAC is the level of competition. Every week is a battle that comes down to a few plays. The difference between a win and loss is closer in our conference than anywhere in the nation. What is your favorite… Menu item from Culver’s? Bacon Culvers Deluxe Flavor of the Day from Culver’s? Winning the state championship in football my senior year of high school. It was my dad's last year of coaching and was the last time my high school friends and I played football together. What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates? Play cards, watch movies, and go tubing down the river. Who is someone that you look up to? My Dad. He is someone I look up to everyday. He cares for everyone he meets but also pushes you to improve and be a better human. He motivates me and many others to reach the goals we set. When a problem occurs, he often has a level head and thinks about what the next step is. Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes? The process takes time. You will not reach your goals on your first day as a student athlete. Enjoy the moments of learning, failing, and succeeding. Stick with the process and give it your all.
