MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its award winners for the 2025 men’s outdoor track & field season based on voting by the conference coaches.

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Sam Blaskowski was tabbed the Kwik Trip Track Performer of the Meet from the WIAC Championship (presented by Culver’s), while UW-Eau Claire’s Yakob Ekoue secured Kwik Trip Field Performer of the Meet recognition and UW-Eau Claire’s Blake Postler was selected the Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year. Blaskowski secured the award for the second time in his career (2022). He won the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash with times of 10.08 seconds and 20.38 seconds, respectively. Blaskowski’s time in the 200-meter dash established a conference championship record and facility record, while his 100-meter dash performance was a WIAC season-best mark and facility record. He was also a member of the second-place 4x100-meter relay team.

Ekoue received the distinction for the third straight year, becoming the first individual in conference history to accomplish the feat. He posted a first-place finish in the discus with a toss of 191-9 (58.45m), and added second-place performances in the shot put (58-1 3/4 - 17.72m) and hammer throw (193-4 – 58.93m). Postler won the 400-meter hurdles in 52.60 seconds to set a conference season best. He placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.47 seconds) and the 4x400-meter relay.  A newcomer is defined as a student-athlete who used his season of participation in men’s outdoor track & field this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in men’s outdoor track & field at their previous institution.
