UW-Stevens Point’s Anderson Finalist For Sid Watson Award

GLOUCESTER, Mass.
--For the third consecutive year, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Fletcher Anderson is a finalist for the 2025 Sid Watson Award, sponsored by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
 
Anderson earns the finalist distinction after securing WIAC Kwik Trip Player of the Year honors this season. He earned his third-straight All-WIAC first team award this year.
 
This season, Anderson led the WIAC with 36 points and 1.38 points per game. His 13 goals were seventh among WIAC skaters. Anderson led all WIAC players with 100 shots. He recorded at least one point in 20 of 25 games with a season-high four points at Northland College (Wis.) on Dec. 7, 2024. Anderson finished his career with 111 points, 47 goals and 64 assists.
 
The Sid Watson Award is given annually to the best NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey player in the country. It honors the memory of former Bowdoin College head coach and athletic director Sid Watson. A three-time AHCA Coach of the Year, Watson served Bowdoin for more than 30 years, winning 326 games in 24 seasons as head coach.
 
Anderson is one of 12 finalists and the recipient will be announced later this month at the NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Frozen Four.
