(Kimberly) WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Sarah Hardwick, Senior (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame Academy), Forward of UW-Oshkosh Hardwick helped the Titans to two wins in Oregon during the week by averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds with a 65 percent (13-of-20) clip from the field. As the Titans defeated Linfield University (Ore.), 57-32, on Dec. 5, she shot a flawless 6-of-6 from the field for 12 points and recorded seven rebounds. Hardwick finished her week by tallying season highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds at University of the Pacific (Ore.) on Dec. 6. During the 51-39 victory, she went 7-of-14 from the field, dished out two assists, blocked two shots, stole a possession, and had more offensive rebounds than defensive (7 to 6). (Sheboygan Lutheran) MEN’S ICE HOCKEY Sebastian Monaco, Freshman (Caledon, Ontario), Goalie of UW-Stout Monaco made 60 saves (.968 save %, 0.96 GAA) to give UW-Stout a five-point weekend. He made 40 saves at UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 5, to earn a 2-2 tie, before blanking the Pointers in the shoot-out to pick up the extra point. Monaco then made 20 saves to blank (RV) UW-Superior at home on Dec. 6, to earn his first career shutout. Lifting the Blue Devils to their first home win over UW-Superior since Dec. 2021, and first home shut out over the Yellowjackets since Jan. 2015. The only goals he allowed over the weekend were on the power play, stopping 11 shots across nine opponent PP opportunities. On Dec. 4, Hancock tallied her second multi-point game of the season, scoring two even strength goals against UW-Stevens Point, with five shots on goal. Against UW-Superior on Dec. 6, Hancock sealed the 4-2 UW-Eau Claire win with her third goal of the week just moments after the Blugolds took a 3-2 lead. Hancock was +3 overall on the week. (Hibbing) MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING Swimming Jacob Ketterling, Senior (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek), of UW-La Crosse Ketterling helped lead UW-La Crosse to a second-place finish in the eight-team Rochester (Minn.) Invitational held Dec. 4-6. Individually, he recorded four top-six finishes. Ketterling was third in the 100-yard individual medley (51.86 seconds) and 200-yard individual medley (1:54.73), while finishing fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.41) and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (51.04 seconds). He was also on four relays placing in the top seven. Ketterling was the Eagles' fourth-place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:22.45), fifth-place 400-yard medley relay (3:22.55), sixth-place 400-yard freestyle relay (3:06.47) and seventh-place 200-yard medley relay (1:33.68). Invitational held Dec. 4-6. He finished fourth in the three-meter (351.30 points) competition and seventh in the one-meter (320.70). (Parkway West) WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING Swimming Callee DeBruin, Freshman (Kimberly, Wis./Seton Home Study School), of UW-Oshkosh DeBruin broke three individual program records at the Carthage College (Wis.) Classic during the week. She set both the 1,650-yard freestyle with a first-place time of 17:50.25 and reset the 1,000-yard freestyle mark with her split of 10:45.64 in the event. Her third record was claimed when she won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:11.54. DeBruin wrapped up her individual events with a second-place time of 1:55:84 in the 200-yard freestyle. A member of four of the Titans’ relay teams, she helped the 800-yard freestyle relay to fourth, the 400-yard medley to fourth, the 400-yard freestyle to second, and the 200-yard medley to fourth. (Kenosha Indian Trail) MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD Track Dylan Doss, Junior (Sterling, Ill./Sterling), of UW-Oshkosh Doss broke the Titans’ program record in the 200-meter dash during the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational/Multi with a time of 21.44 seconds, which converts to a banked track time of 21.07. His time is the fastest in Division III this season. As the Titans swept the top four positions in the long jump, Doss took third with a best distance of 23-4 1/2 (7.12m), which is the 11th-furthest in the division. Also nominated: UW-River Falls, Tyler Parker, Sophomore, Wauwatosa, Wis. (Wauwatosa West) Field Jacob Balcome, Junior (Alexandria, Minn./Alexandria), of UW-River Falls Balcome delivered a strong season opener at the M City Classic. He won the heptathlon with 5,240 points, setting a new meet record. Across the two-day competition, Balcome picked up event wins in the high jump (1.97m), long jump (6.65m), pole vault (4.45m), and the 1,000-meter run, where he ran a personal-best 2:48.14. He added top-three marks in the 60-meter dash (7.29 seconds), 60-meter hurdles (8.60 seconds), and shot put (11.62m) for top score in the field. (Bolingbrook) WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD Track Amelia Lehman, Senior (Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh Valley Christian), of UW-Oshkosh Lehman won two distance events at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational/Multi on Dec. 6. She won the mile run in a personal record time of 4:46.50 and the 800-meter run in 2:20.06. The mile run finish leads Division III this season and the 800-meter run finish is seventh. (Rocori) Field Lauryn Schutz, Sophomore (St. Paul, Minn./St. Croix Prep - Wis.), of UW-River Falls Schutz opened her indoor season with a major milestone at the M City Classic, launching a personal-best 56-11 1/4 (17.35m) in the 20-pound weight throw to set an indoor school record, surpassing the previous mark from 2007. (Kiel) WRESTLING Ian Pepple, Junior (Hastings, Minn./Hastings), 197 pounds of UW-Eau Claire Pepple helped UW-Eau Claire remain 2-0 in WIAC competition and won his non-conference matches during the week as the Blugolds hosted No. 11-ranked UW-Whitewater, No. 8-ranked Loras College (Iowa), and No. 1-ranked Augsburg University (Minn.) for the UW-Eau Claire Super Quad. In his first match of the day, Pepple defeated UW-Whitewater's Logan Kawa by a 19-2 tech fall at 6:47. Pepple continued his momentum against Loras College's Alex Watson with his second tech fall of the evening, winning 16-0 at 5:46. In his last match of the day, Pepple was victorious over top-ranked Ethan Winkelman by a 7-2 decision, completing a 3-0 day for Pepple.
