Name: Sarah Hardwick Institution: UW-Oshkosh Hometown and High School: Green Bay, Wis. (Notre Dame Academy) Year in school: Senior Sport: Women’s Basketball Major: Biomedical Science Minor: Chemistry Why did you choose UW-Oshkosh? I chose UW-Oshkosh because of the winning culture and competitive atmosphere the athletes and coaches create, along with the strong academics. What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete? One of the things that I like most about competing in the WIAC is the competitiveness of the league as a whole. You always know that conference play is going to be one of the hardest parts of the season. Being a Division III athlete has allowed me to fulfill my dream of being a college athlete while also studying the things I love. What is your favorite… Menu item from Culver’s? Going to the Final Four last season! What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates? One of my favorite things to do off the court with my teammates is having everyone over to the house for dinner or desserts or snacks then playing games. Who is someone that you look up to? One person that I look up to is my dad. He is one of the most hardworking and reliable people I know and pushes me to be the best version of myself every day. Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes? Trust the process. Things won’t always go the way you plan or want them to, but trust that it’ll all work out. Also enjoy the journey, before you know it’ll be coming to an end. One word that describes you? Determined. What is your dream job? My dream job is to work in genetic counseling. Three things on your "bucket list"? ---Travel to Croatia ---Go sky diving ---See the North Lights in Iceland A non-athletic talent that you have is? I love baking! What’s your dream sporting event to attend? Division I Women's Basketball March Madness or a World Cup Finals. Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they? I’m not really superstitious, but I do chew a piece of gum during warmups and then throw it away before every game starts. # # # # #
