UW-La Crosse Drops NCAA Women’s Soccer Second Round Contest; Made Fifth Straight NCAA Appearance

--University of Wisconsin-La Crosse fell 3-1 to University of Chicago (Ill.) in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship at Stagg Grass Field on Nov. 16.
 
UW-La Crosse completed the 2025 campaign with a 19-3-1 record and won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. The 19 wins are fourth in single-season school history. UW-La Crosse made its eighth NCAA appearance, including fifth straight.
 
UW-La Crosse earned a spot in the second round with a 4-0 first round victory over St. Catherine University (Minn.). It was the 15th shutout of the season, the second-most in program history.

Against Chicago (14-2-3), UW-La Crosse took a 1-0 lead with Sera Speltz scoring at 14:32 off Monica Wawrzyn’s assist. The game remained, 1-0, until the Maroons tied the contest at 33:02 on Indira Naylor's unassisted goal. The game was tied, 1-1, at halftime.

The Eagles had two shots in the first half, while the Maroons recorded five.

Chicago took a 2-1 lead at 47:22 on Naylor's second goal of the game with Jamie Nguyen recording the assist. Annabel Edwards extended the lead to 3-1 at 82:51. Naylor had the assist.

UW-La Crosse was held to four shots in the game with one on goal and had five corner kicks.

The Maroons finished with 15 shots, including six on goal, and had three corner kicks.
