Football 1/28/2025 1:36:17 PM UW-Platteville’s Younker and UW-River Falls’ Borgerding Named To Academic All-America® Football Team Official CSC Release AUSTIN, Texas--University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Benjamin Younker and UW-River Falls’ Aaron Borgerding have been named to the 2024 NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Football Second Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators. Younker maintains a 3.85 grade point average and is majoring in civil engineering. He is the fifth individual in program archives to secure Academic All-America® accolades. Younker received D3football.com All-America Second Team honors this season, as well as D3football.com All-Region 6 First Team recognition and All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) First Team plaudits. He averaged a conference-best 42.9 yards per punt and placed 18 of 41 punts inside the 20-yard line. Younker uncorked a 75-yard punt against Wartburg College (Iowa) on Nov. 30, 2024. It is the longest punt in program history. Borgerding is majoring in health and human performance with a minor in adapted physical education, and sustains a 3.74 grade point average. He is the fourth Academic All-America® selection in program history and the first since 2006. Borgerding claimed the 2024 WIAC Football Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award and was a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation’s William V. Campbell Trophy®. He was a D3football.com All-Region 6 First Team honoree and All-WIAC First Team pick this season. Borgerding ranked second on the team with 65 total tackles, while adding three interceptions, three pass breakups, three tackles for loss, and one sack. Borgerding didn't miss a game throughout his career as a Falcon, appearing in 42 contests with 250 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss. He ranks among UW-River Falls' top-10 all-time with 11 interceptions and 17 pass breakups. To be eligible for the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. # # # # #
