In addition, UW-Whitewater’s Abbie Reiser received Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year honors. The team was determined by using a combination of the WIAC Championship results from the fall (50 percent) and the last Golfstat Adjusted Scoring Average rankings (50 percent) prior to the NCAA Championship. A player must have completed a minimum of eight rounds in order to be considered for the All-Conference Team and Player of the Year, while a minimum of six rounds were needed to qualify for Newcomer of the Year. Meade claimed the honor for the second time in her career (2020-21) and was a first team pick a season ago. She is the fourth individual in conference history to receive the award twice, joining UW-Eau Claire’s Maggie Loney (2004-05, 2005-06), UW-Stevens Point’s Jessie Urban (2008-09, 2009-10), and UW-Stout’s Brittany McNett-Emmerich (2012-13, 2014-15). Meade earned medalist honors at the WIAC Championship and finished the season with a 77.4 stroke average. She also secured medalist recognition at the UW-Eau Claire Georgianni Blugold Invitational. Meade registered a second-place finish at the UW-La Crosse Invitational and tied for second at the Viterbo Invitational, while tying for sixth at the Division III Classic and tying for seventh at the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) Invitational. UW-La Crosse’s Molly Larsen and UW-Stout’s Abbey Filipiak (Player of the Year) were repeat selections on the first team from a season ago. Filipiak also claimed first team accolades in 2020-21 (Newcomer of the Year), along with UW-Whitewater’s Ashton Sinak. Sinak claimed Player of the Year distinction in 2019-20. Reiser’s selection marks the second straight year that a Warhawk golfer has claimed the honor (Kallie Lux). She owns an 84.0 stroke average this season and tied for 15th place at the WIAC Championship. A Newcomer of the Year is defined as a student-athlete who used her first season of participation in women’s golf this season. Transfers are not eligible unless they didn’t participate in women’s golf at their previous institution. 2022-23 All-WIAC Women’s Golf Team First Team Name, School, Year, Hometown (High School) Abbey Filipiak, Stout, Junior, Elk River, Minn.
