The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's. Name: Reese Wiggins Institution: UW-Stevens Point Hometown (High School): Algonquin Ill. (Harry D. Jacobs High School) Year in school: Senior Sport: Football Major: Health Promotion and Wellness Why did you choose UW-Stevens Point? I was interested in playing college football. It has been a big part of my life and has helped make me the person that I am today. Over the football visits that I attended, the campus and town grew on me until it felt like home. What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in? None. What causes do you care about? Helping and giving back to the community with the football team, as well as fight against cancer. What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete? It’s something that I will never forget. The competition at this level is amazing and fun to be a part of. The student-athletes love and support each other through thick and thin. I like that I can set a good example for others. What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates? Go golfing or going to the gym. One word that describes your team? Family. One word that describes you? Integrity. What is your dream job? A personal trainer and strength coach. Three things on your "bucket list"? ---Have a big family. ---Visit Italy. ---Own a horse. A non-athletic talent that you have is? Cooking. Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they? While in the locker room before taking the field, I like to turn off my music and clear my head. If I can, I will find a quiet place for a few minutes and sit there before taking the field. # # # # #
